Ben is a registered landscape architect in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois, and has been providing creative design and project management support for public access, park and open space planning, waterfront design, and ecological restoration projects for over 14 years.
Ben specializes in spatial design, layout, master planning, and sustainability and has experience in all aspects of project management, site analysis, field services, site design, stormwater management, volumetric and cost calculations, preparation of design and construction documents, and construction services. Ben thrives on bringing technology and new techniques to the design process to improve efficiency, client service, and the environmental components of projects. Ben has built and used unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to create topographic maps, high resolution orthophotos, and oblique images. As a key leader of conceptual, design development, and final design teams, Ben coordinates marketing and business development activities; coordinates field services; coordinates the production of landscape architecture, restoration, civil, and coastal engineering design and bid documents; and is well versed in CADD, GIS, and 3D visualization, photorealistic rendering software for design analysis and communication. Ben routinely collaborates with coastal, civil, and structural engineers, architects, hydrologists, ecologists, computer modelers, and stakeholders and has been involved in a range of multidisciplinary landscape architecture, coastal engineering, and ecological restoration projects from initial site visits and survey to construction.
